Artist Guest of Honor: Liz Danforth

Liz Danforth

Liz Danforth did not start out to be an artist; after all, she graduated in 1976 from university with an honors degree in Anthropology and absolutely no art training.  At times Liz may not have even considered herself to be a professional artist but when pushed and prodded by friends she kept at her art.  She soon realized that this was to be her career and took some training to fill in the gaps self training had left her.

Since starting out around 1978, Liz has done freelanced art, editing, writing, and scenario design for over 100 different game and publishing companies, notably Wizards of the Coast, Bantam Books, TSR, AEG, Mage Knight, FASA, ICE, GDW, Interplay, EA, DAW.  In 1996 Liz was inducted into the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts and Design's Hall of Fame.  Beyond Card and Gaming art Liz has done work for The Arizona Science Center and Phoenix Public Library for their Satellite Science program.  She also enjoys creating Cardigan and other dog art and Celtic designs attracted her decades before they became trendy.

For a listing of her role playing game art credits the web site Pen and Paper has an updated listing.
